For those of you looking for yoga classes in Pattaya, Tony’s Gym offers free classes for members on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The schedule changes frequently, as it used to be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday so be sure to check with them.
The class is one hour long and is conducted on a second level room that gets extremely hot, so the term “hot yoga” definitely applies in this case. You will most likely sweat your butt off, as I usually have perspiration just dripping off of my body by the end of class. Although that sounds gross, it means that you are getting a great workout and clearing oils and toxins from your body by excreting them through the skin. Very healthy.
Memberships to the gym are reasonably priced, and be sure to look for periodic specials that they offer. I bought a lifetime membership for less than the regular cost of a two-year membership by taking advantage of one of their specials.
If you have never tried yoga, I recommend you do so, especially if you’re looking for an intense cardiovascular workout. It is also great for improving muscle flexibility and core strength. If you are going to a yoga class for the first time, be prepared to be very tired by the end of class and extremely sore the next day.
Be sure to bring with you to class a towel and water bottle, as they are not provided complementary anymore. See you there.
