Jomtien is a short 10 to 15 minute drive from Pattaya. There are three main routes to get to Jomtien from Pattaya. About two years ago they completed a widening project on the main road linking the two cities, so now there is a good quality 4 to 6 lane highway that makes it much easier to traverse between the two points. This road is a straight shot in is definitely the fastest way to get to Jomtien.
Other than the new highway that I just described, there is also a two lane road that connects the cities across the mountain that is visible near the beach. This is the same mountain that has the Buddhist temple on top and also the viewing area that gives spectacular views of Pattaya Bay. It is a more winding and circuitous road, but gives excellent views of the ocean along the way.
The third way to get to Jomtien from Pattaya is by taking the major highway that runs through town, called Sukhumvit. If you’re traveling from Bangkok, this is the best way to go, but from Pattaya city it is a more roundabout way to get there.
Do you know of any other ways to get to Jomtien from Pattaya? If so, please say so below.
