If you suffer from acid re-flux, you should be okay to eat avocados because they are not acid forming in the stomach. Usually, eating avocado lowers pH level in the body because the fruit is alkaline.
Avocados do contain a large amount of monounsaturated fat and insoluble fiber, however, which are difficult to digest and stay in the stomach longer than carbohydrates.
So, if you suffer from acid re-flux disease, don’t hesitate to dip your tortilla chip in that enticing bowl of guacamole dip, as you should be just fine.
